5 Action Items to Keep in Mind for Dreamforce 2015

As I made the trek across the country to San Francisco to embark upon my first Dreamforce I was excited about the possibilities! I had decided to approach my time there as a great learning opportunity. I couldn’t wait to dive deep into the details of CRM and learn new and innovative ways to consult clients that are looking for Salesforce based solutions.  Dreamforce can be an awesome but overwhelming experience so I wanted to set clear goals in the beginning as a basis for pairing down the vast information to find key takeaways from Dreamforce.

That being said, I would like to share with you 5 action items I used to start the week.  If you follow these steps for Dreamforce conferences in the future, you will have experienced Dreamforce efficiently and completely with no regrets and a plan! Following these action items really helped.

1. Research Sessions - First, fill your agenda with sessions at Dreamforce that have dual purposes. The goal is to improve CRM knowledge and to understand the power and potential of this impressive platform for your clients. In learning about this, you will also acquire about ways that better business and sales processes.

2. Meet People - Take advantage of the "brainpower" and industry resources present to network with. Your goal should be to meet at least two new contacts each day. You figure each session you signed up for has people in it that are similar in mindset and function in their workplace. The hope is to connect and exchange ideas to find solutions for customer issues.

3. Get Inspired! - Get inspired and gain insight that will sharpen your knowledge base on the possibilities within the SFDC platform. It is important to improve your own management of potential clients and learn the new updates and offerings that are introduced at Dreamforce.

4. Philanthropy - Adopt more of a philanthropic mindset like SFDC and take back ideas that could not only improve your business but also the community and the world around you.

5. Soak up San Francisco - Be stimulated by the energy and creativity that is San Francisco. There is a reason that countless tech companies call this city home. The vibe here is to try new things and to challenge old ideas. This mindset is always beneficial when beginning something new.

So What?

As I get ready to pack up and head home I am reviewing my week here in San Francisco. Completing these 5 action items helped me to experience Dreamforce to its absolute fullest! Make sure with any conference, you have a plan. No matter the size they can all be overwhelming if you don't have a plan of action.
